Nidhogg
5:24 Nidhogg
In Norse mythology, Nidhogg is a monstrous, dragon-like serpent that lives under one of the roots of the world tree Yggdrasil. This creature constantly tries to gnaw off the roots of Yggdrasil, but every evening the norns Urd, Verdande and Skuld pour water from the Urdar well (Urdarbrønnen) over the wounds of the roots so that the tree does not die.
